As if FISA/Patriot Act and Telecom Immunity weren’t bad enough…
This holy mess rolled across my vision this morning.
It looks like Google just pissed away the privacy of MILLIONS of it’s users. And what does that mean for those folks who are recorded as viewing Viacom’s unlawfully rendered materials? Are we going to get a bill in the mail now?
I honestly cannot believe a court would order this kind of bullshit to even occur. At this point in my life, I can pretty much wave goodbye to my 4th Amendment rights, can’t I?
If you are irritated about FISA and also support Barack Obama, please contact his campaign to spread the word of your disapproval of his intent, and the Democratic party’s intent, to let this slide. No doubt Obama received some financial contribution for his decision to “flip-flop.” Which is a bit more than disconcerting at this point. Since gaining the nomination, he’s become quite the dissapointment.
But no one can be as bad as Bush.
Bush and his failed policies are in the midst of destroying this country. Even the Onion knows it.
I love librarians, because they are so hard core about freedom of information. This re-affirms why this is my designated career field. If I were a librarian, I would go to jail if it meant protecting freedom of information for my patrons. No joke. I’m sick of corporations and the government lording this shit over us.
I think it might be a touch disturbing that we are celebrating our independence today, when we can’t even keep our basic, constitutional rights secure. Well, the corporations can. But the average citizen is pretty well screwed.
Much Love, Mindy C
