Who watches the Watchmen?
About 300 or so lucky bastards in Portland, Oregon last night – yours truly and her husband NOT INCLUDED.
Here’s the scoop: The usual tom-foolery of my morning includes wrangling with a hot iron, finding relatively clean un-ironed clothes to wear, exercising the dog and ferret – AND surfing the net.
Wellll – the Comic [...]

Just cause there’s vampires in it. That’s all.
I did actually enjoy the first book of the Twilight series which I picked up Thursday during my lunch break, and finished Saturday afternoon. Yeah, it was one of those kinda weekends.
To be honest – I’m not quite sure why I liked it as much as [...]

I’ve taken a hiatus from Graphic Novels and comic books in the last few weeks to pursue a few regular style novels that I’d been meaning to attend to. Give me a few weeks and I should be back on track…I promise.
The most recent book was Rant – An Oral Biography of Buster Casey by [...]

I arrived yesterday afternoon after fighting through 45 minutes of traffic (replete with an accident on I-84 and emergency vehicles and all that business) , and even a brief 15 minute Max ride once we hit fareless square to the Oregon Brewer’s Festival (according to my pen, North America’s Largest Independent Brewfest).
Dan and I tested [...]

Dan and I are officially the dorkiest people on the planet as of 7:00pm this evening. Here’s a bit of the story:
One of my goals for the Bush Money (re: Stimulus Check) was to buy Dan a bike, so we could go on rides together. Now that I’ve been down to the Springwater Corridor Trail [...]

Reviewed here: American Born Chinese, Faker and Off Road
My latest trip to the library not only yielded me around $20 in overdue fines (damn the man!) but also a stack of about 20 tpb/graphic novels to consume. I’m going to forego lengthy blogs about each for a review snack pack of three books in particular.
#1
American [...]

So, I was surprised to drum up this fancy piece of information this afternoon will scanning through my RSS Feeds. I suppose that’s one thing that I’ve always loved about Portland, the city’s ability to look towards the future. And/or copy California/Seattle.
I’m not unaware of the fact that what PGE REALLY wants…is to [...]

It’s a Saturday two-fer.
In the Small by writer/artist Michael Hague is gorgeously conceived with delicious color and picturesque panels. The concept and plot are amazing too – a sudden and bizarre “flash” changes the entire world population into pint-sized versions of themselves. This seemingly eradicates a good chunk of humanity – those who are trapped [...]

So – I’m skipping off the rest of the work day to get a massage with my ma and sister – and sitting inside Burgerville on Hawthorne and 12th, taking advantage of delicious food and free wi-fi.
And what to my wondering/wandering eyes should appear?
A 3 legged beast known to few (or many?) as the PDX [...]
